Energy Data

The AlphaESS App helps you clearly understand your home's energy usage, from real-time status to long-term trends, at a glance. With this data you can see where energy comes from and where it goes, and gradually appreciate the value renewable energy brings to your life.

Real-time Power Overview

The homepage shows your home's current energy status. In the home energy flow diagram, you can see:

  • PV Generation Power (kW):Current solar generation

  • Battery Status:Includes charging or discharging power (kW), current state of charge (SoC, %) and operating status (charging, discharging, or standby)

  • Home Load Power (kW):Power currently being consumed by the home

  • Grid Power (kW):Shows whether power is being drawn from the grid or fed into the grid

  • EV Charger Power (kW):Displayed only when the system includes an EV charger

The direction of energy flow shows where energy is going between devices, helping you quickly understand current usage patterns.

Historical Energy Data

On Energy page, you can review energy usage over different time scales. Supported views:

  • Day / Month / Year data

  • PV Generation

  • Battery Charge/Discharge

  • Home Electricity Consumption

  • Grid Import and Export

These data help you understand household usage habits and system performance across different periods.

How to Read Energy Charts

Energy charts show trends in energy changes rather than instantaneous values.

  • Daytime is usually dominated by solar power

  • Nighttime relies more on the battery or the grid

Click the Stacked View button (when the time view is month/year/total) to see different colors representing different energy sources or destinations in the energy chart. This helps you better understand household energy behavior in different periods. For example, on cloudy or rainy days, household electricity comes more from the battery or the grid; on sunny days, solar typically accounts for a larger share.

Renewable Achievements

Renewable achievements show how much of your home's energy actually comes from solar and the battery. The system calculates the proportion provided by renewables based on the home's total consumption for the selected time range and presents it visually. As this proportion increases, your household will:

  • Reduce dependence on the grid

  • Lower electricity costs

  • Move closer to a sustainable lifestyle

circle-info

Renewable achievements are affected by seasons and weather. Values are typically lower in winter due to less sunlight than in summer. If this value remains low for a long time, it usually means solar supply is insufficient and you may need to increase PV capacity or optimize system configuration.
