Network Configuration
Use Network Configuration to connect your storage device to the home network, enabling data exchange between the device and the cloud platform and allowing remote viewing of real-time energy data and system status.
When do I need to configure the network?
Your energy storage system is usually connected during installation. However, you may need to configure it manually in the following two situations:
Device shows “Offline”: when the connection is interrupted due to signal interference or power outage.
Home network changes: when you replace the router or change the WiFi name or password.
At this time, you can reconfigure the WiFi network from the offline device list or Device Settings - Network.
Before you start
Before configuring WiFi, please confirm the following preparations:
The communication module is installed and the module power indicator is on
You know your home WiFi network name and password
Phone Bluetooth and WiFi are turned on
The phone is within 5 meters of the device
Note: WiFi configuration only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi networks, not 5 GHz. Please ensure your router has 2.4 GHz enabled.
Configuration steps
Step 1: Connect to the communication module hotspot
After entering the WiFi configuration page, the App will automatically search for nearby communication module hotspots.
Find the hotspot named with your device SN in the list and tap to connect.
Tip: The hotspot name is usually the device SN number, which can be found on the device nameplate or packaging.
iOS users: Due to system differences, please manually go to the phone WiFi settings and stay there for a few seconds so AlphaESS can obtain the WiFi list. After that, return to the App and tap the hotspot name; the App will automatically complete the connection.
Android users: Tap the hotspot name and the App will automatically complete the connection.
Hotspot password: The App will automatically fill the hotspot password based on the device SN, usually no manual input is required. If automatic connection fails, refer to the “FAQ” below.

Step 2: Connect to home WiFi
After successfully connecting to the communication module hotspot, the page will display a list of available nearby WiFi networks.
Select yourhome WiFi(2.4 GHz band), enter the WiFi password, then tapNext.
Tip: The communication module will use this network to connect to the cloud platform for remote data monitoring.
Wait for the connection to complete. If the connection fails, the page will indicate the specific reason:
Incorrect password: Please re-enter the correct WiFi password
Connection failed: Please check the router status and retry after confirming the network is normal
Connection complete: tapFinish, the device network configuration is successful and return to the previous page.
After configuration is complete, the device status will update toOnlineand you can view real-time power data on the App home page.

FAQ
Hotspot password incorrect, unable to connect to communication module
If the password auto-filled by the App cannot connect to the hotspot, the hotspot password may have been changed.
Solution:
On the password input page tapForgot Password.
The App will scan nearby Bluetooth devices and tap to connect when it finds the communication module's Bluetooth name.
Reset the hotspot password via Bluetooth; after completion the App will automatically fill in the new password and reconnect to the hotspot.
Note: Resetting the password requires the phone's Bluetooth to remain on and be within 5 meters of the communication module. If your energy storage device does not support Bluetooth connection, please contact AlphaESS after-sales for support.
Hotspot unexpectedly disconnected during network configuration
If the communication module hotspot disconnects during configuration, the App will automatically attempt to reconnect.
Automatic reconnection successful: Continue to complete the subsequent configuration steps
Automatic reconnection failed: The page will show options to retry or exit
TapRetry: Attempt to connect to the hotspot again
TapExit: End configuration and return to the device management page to try again later
How to reconfigure after replacing the router or changing WiFi password
If you replace your home router or change the WiFi password, you need to run the WiFi configuration again to connect the device to the new network.
Procedure: Go to Device Management → Networkand reconfigure following the steps above. Existing device data and history are not affected.
What to do if network configuration fails
If you still cannot complete the network configuration after several attempts, please:
Confirm the communication module power indicator is lit
Confirm the phone is within 5 meters of the device
Check whether the home WiFi network is functioning properly
Restart the router and try again
If the problem still persists, please contact AlphaESS after-sales for support.
